Charlton Heston, who appeared in some 100 films in his 60-year acting career but who is remembered chiefly for his monumental, jut-jawed portrayals of Moses, Ben-Hur and Michelangelo, died Saturday night at his home in Beverly Hills, Calif. He was 84.

Planet of The Apes was THE greatest movie to ever be released.

He was also an outspoken advocate for the Rifleman's Association of which I think he was the head of until his retirement in 2002 when he made the speech about his neurological illness that had the same appearance as alzheimer's. I am unable to recall the name of the organization, but, I know it had Rifle in it and he was a strong advocate for people being allowed to bears arms.

Yep. National Rifle Association. NRA for short. I'm a member. In fact, my whole family belongs.

I think President Ronald Reagan was in favor of the right to ban arms also. I think he was an avid outdoors man and hunter. I know he had an awesome ranch.

I think you mistyped. Ronald Regan was pro second amendment. Not the banning of arms. But the right to bear arms.

He was in favor, but wasn't as outspoken as Mr. Heston. Also both George Bush and GW Bush.
